I live in Florida, where the weather is usually hot or “why pay to use a steam room when you can sit in your driveway?” hot. The weather has suddenly cooled down (which is a WELCOME change). It’s uncommon to have as many chilly days and even chillier nights in late October and early November. I can’t stand the heat, so the cool temperatures tend to liven me up. I’ve been sitting outside on my porch while I work. Since the weather change, I’ve been having Raynaud’s flare ups like never before. The symptoms are usually in my feet. Definitely worse than I’ve ever had them in the past. It’s somewhat ironic and a little bit funny, as the attacks started around the exact same time I began my Raynaud’s section here on the website, and my quick little lens on Squidoo.
When I got diagnosed, I wasn’t told much. It was actually after a surgery, I think, that a doctor told my mom “Oh, look at her hands, she has Raynaud’s” and then asked her a few questions about my history, to confirm. My feet also get extremely hot and red in warm weather. I’m a human hypercolor tee shirt. My mom, being a nurse, had thought the same thing in the past. I’ve heard about people losing fingers or toes from the tissue getting so damaged…scary. That’s not the type of thing that’s going to happen in this weather, but I can only imagine what it’s like in below zero temps. Not very comfortable.
Working on getting this place up to speed every day, though it may not look like it. So many details, it’s crazy. I’m enjoying learning about how to do everything and giving it all a go, myself.
